ASSEMBLY DETAILS

  • 1” Type S drywall screws spaced 8” o.c. at edges and 12” o.c. in the field.
  • One layer: 5/8” QuietRock® 530 or QuietRock® 530RF gypsum panel applied vertically.
  • 2-1/2”, R-8 glass fiber insulation friction fit into stud cavity. 
  • 2-1/2” 18 mil steel studs, 16” o.c.
  • 6” x 12” x 5/8” gypsum board cross bracing fastened with 3 #6 x 1” Type S screws in each stud. Alternate: steel runners cut to min. 4-1/4”, fastened with 2 #8 x 1/2” screws at studs. Vertical spacing of bracing not to exceed 48 in. o.c. 
  • 1” air gap.
  • 2-1/2” 18 mil steel studs, 16” o.c.
